My husband and I went to Boston this last weekend for a little getaway.
We stayed in an adorable New England style home right outside of the city which worked perfectly for me since I LOVE riding on trains. Kelly tolerated my enthusiasm about trains. He is a Texas boy who loves his truck.
The first day we went to an Open Studio Tour and saw a lot of interesting work. Sadly I think Kelly and I were more in love with the old buildings than the artwork but we will still had a great time.
We also went to Faneuil Hall Marketplace and saw the most fun street performances. I rarely carry cash but I happened to have some and this guy totally deserved it. Sadly, I was so caught up in the act (juggling knives one handed while playing a bagpipe on a 10′ unicycle!!) that I totally forgot to take a photo.
We also had delicious seafood and visited Irish pubs and in house breweries. It just so happened it was also the Charles Regatta (rowing competition) so we stopped over there too and watched a while.
The weather was perfect and I heard enough funny Boston accents to keep me giggling for a while. Of course no trip to Boston as a tourist is complete with a piece of Boston Cream Pie which Kelly and I actually had a hard time finding. Ironic! But when we did, it was totally worth it! Mmmmmm!
Now I guess I am ready to get back to work. Heehee!
