My life with a ceramic artist: one sister’s perspective.
Even though Christie does 100% of the work, sometimes I forget that her business isn’t called Christie and Toya’s Ceramics. I have such a vested interest not only as a sister but as a best friend. I don’t think we have a conversation with out brainstorming blog posts or new ideas for products or what color glazes to use. When she has a great show, I celebrate with her. When she has a down day, I feel her frustration. I have watched her start with an idea and then carefully plan out how she will reach her goal. Did you know that she has taken multiple business classes to help her have a better business? You’ve seen her posts showing all her lists and how organized she is. And obviously she has overflowing talent. So really it’s quite humorous for me to take any amount of credit for all of her hard work. But one thing I can be for her that she can’t always be is her number one fan. Christie, you amaze me. Keep up the fantastic work!
