This fall/winter has been really strange- not cold enough to count but not warm enough to dismiss.

Now that I am back in the studio, I am making my mini herb markers again and getting really excited about the upcoming Spring! I am hoping to actually get to use some of my markers this Spring.

I am also planning to expand the line to include the most popular vegetables. Please join me on facebook this week so you get to vote on which herb and veggie markers will be available this Spring.

I have come to learn that ceramics break. That is just a fact.

You’re probably thinking: well, DUH!

But what I mean is that ceramics break in all stages. They break if they are dried to quickly. They break if the kiln is fired to fast. They break if the glaze drips onto the kiln shelf and fuses to it. They break if they cool too quickly and of course they break if you drop them. I’ve had my fair share of all these problems.

I even have my own little ceramic graveyard of broken pieces. At first I was frustrated by the amount of stuff that had to be tossed because the piece broke, didn’t turn out well, or something else went wrong. But now I know that with every load there is some loss.

I have been trying to come up with a way to use all the shards I have collected. Mosaic table tops? Or Mosaic mirror/ picture frames? I’d love to hear your ideas!

I have thoroughly enjoyed a week with my family doing nothing more than playing games, baking way too many sweets and laughing a lot.

In case you have not had enough sweets at Christmas, I wanted to share some of ours!

If you were the lucky recipient of these plates you got: cinnamon pinwheel cookies. peanut brittle, peanut butter blonde brownies, haystacks, fudge, and magic bars (chocolate, coconut and other deliciousness).

Can we say sugar overload? That is why we gave it all away.
