Environmental thoughts:
Let’s face it…art is not environmentally friendly, although I still try to do my part and produce my artwork with sustainability in mind. I fire my stoneware to midrange, which results in a durable piece while using less energy than high fire. I fire all my kilns using Green Mountain 100% wind powered energy. I even host my website with a company that uses green energy sources to power their servers.
But the best part is that ceramics are “green”! When you use a beautifully handcrafted ceramic item, it is designed for generations of function and pleasure and when used over and over it reduces waste that would otherwise be put in the landfills. So, three cheers for ceramics! Hip hip horray!!
